The Gayner Family Sustainable Investment Fund (GFSIF) is a premier student-run scholarship fund at the University of Virginia, with over $600,000 of committed capital. Established in 2023 by a donation from Thomas and Susan Gayner of the Markel Group, the GFSIF aims to empower students through a dual approach of managing a scholarship fund and providing an investment education curriculum. The Vintage Fund Series—the GFSIF's scholarship initiative—invests in equities with a 25-year holding period before distributing the proceeds as student scholarships. Through lectures, workshops, and pitch competitions, members gain in-depth knowledge of investment strategies, stock selection, and portfolio management. In addition, the speaker series features phenomenal guest speakers who provide investing education for students. The vision of the GFSIF is to educate students in value investing while creating a lasting impact on the University community. Co-Presidents: Brandon Nesbit and Darsh Ravada
