The Galant Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship inspires UVA students to embrace entrepreneurship by supporting course development, competitions, events, and experiences that catalyze innovation while creating positive impacts and lasting value in the global marketplace.
Founded in 2008 with generous funding by Mark E. Galant (McIntire '80), the Galant Center plays a pivotal role in the university's entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing experiential learning opportunities for students and a commitment to alumni engagement. The Center's signature event is the Galant Challenge—a pitch event held each spring to expose startups founded by UVA community members to potential investors. The Galant Challenge has resulted in more than $30 million in capital raised for finalists since its inception in 2012.
