Sharpen your global perspective through one of McIntire’s world-class study-abroad programs. Opportunities include immersive, short-term programs taught by McIntire faculty or semesterlong programs at top business schools around the world. Consider a Global Commerce Immersion (GCI) course during January term or spring break, touring the financial capitals of Asia or working on a consulting project in Latin America. Or pursue a transformative semester abroad at one of the very best universities in Asia, Europe, Oceania, or Latin America. McIntire opens many doors for exploring a profoundly global business education.
At both the undergraduate and graduate levels, McIntire students have opportunities to enrich their understanding of global business through local experiences. Discover industry challenges unique to a region and explore different perspectives of global markets by joining people in the very places where they are impacting international enterprise.
Third-year and fourth-year students are encouraged to augment their UVA educational experience by continuing their business studies with one of McIntire's international partner schools in Latin America, Europe, Asia, or Oceania.
Designed with study-abroad components during the winter or spring, GCI courses delve into a developing selection of topic-specific areas of study with particular relevance to the region of the world you'll visit.
All students of McIntire’s M.S. in Commerce Program take part in the requisite Global Immersion Experience (GIE). Choosing from an evolving selection of faculty-led overseas courses, you'll travel overseas with a cohort of classmates on an intensive three-week schedule of academic, company, and cultural visits.
Students of the M.S. in MIT Program can choose to apply their IT knowledge and grow their intercultural project management competencies in a real-world consulting setting. In this weeklong retrospective, students apply collaborate with wine producers in Mendoza, Argentina.
Students experience a transformative journey as they live and learn with a diverse cohort and complete a three-part curriculum at University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and ESMT Berlin, while completing a Social Impact Project with a global organization.
