Earl Webb (McIntire ’78)

Earl Webb has been deeply involved in all aspects of commercial real estate for over 35 years. He began his career in 1981 as an Investment Banker in the Capital Markets division of Continental Bank (now Bank of America). From there, in 1985, he joined the Corporate Finance Group at LaSalle Partners, where he was instrumental in the growth and development of their Capital Markets practice, ultimately running that business in North America and chairing the JLL Global Capital Markets Board (and was a member of JLL’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors).
He also served five years as CEO of the Americas for JLL, immediately after the mergers of LaSalle Partners, Jones Lang Wootten, and Compass, which formed now-JLL. As adviser to some of the U.S.’ largest investors and occupiers of commercial real estate, Webb has advised on transactions totaling over $30 billion in asset value over his career. He joined Avison Young in 2009 as President of U.S. Operations, driving growth in AY’s US business from zero to over $500 million in revenue during his 11 years in that role (Webb also has served on AY’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors throughout his tenure at the firm).
Webb holds a B.S. in Commerce (Finance and Accounting) from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business. He currently is a member of the board of directors of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (NYSE: PEB), and has also served on the public boards of both JLL and Players International. He has been involved in numerous industry organizations throughout his career, including ULI, ICSC, and the Real Estate Roundtable. He is also on the UVA Planned Giving Council and on the McIntire School’s Foundation Board.
