Amanda Richardson (McIntire ’01)
CEO, CoderPad
Amanda Richardson is CEO of CoderPad, the leading software platform for evaluating technical talent. She is a chief executive with extensive experience in product management and strategy, having helped to scale multiple technology startups to hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
At CoderPad, Richardson has grown the team from a handful of employees to nearly 100, driven four-fold revenue growth, and scaled customer count to over 3,800 in under three years. She also led the acquisition of CodinGame, a leading company for asynchronous technical assessments, based in France. Richardson successfully merged the two teams and products, transforming CoderPad from a technical interview solution to a full technical hiring platform with global reach. Richardson continues to lead the team, expand the products’ feature sets, improve customer experience, and grow revenue, with a strong focus on a product-led growth motion.
Before joining CoderPad, Richardson was CEO at Rabbit, which allowed friends to keep in touch by watching their favorite shows together, backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer Venture Partners and acquired by Kast in July 2019. Prior to Rabbit, Richardson was Chief Data & Strategy Officer at HotelTonight, the leading mobile app for last-minute hotel bookings acquired by Airbnb, where she led data analytics, corporate strategy, and data engineering to create and execute data-driven growth strategies. During her time at HotelTonight, the company grew exponentially, with triple the number of app downloads and five times the amount of revenue growth. She also spent three years as VP Product at HotelTonight, where she led multiple feature enhancements that improved conversion by over 30% and managed platform relationships with Apple and Google.
She has held product leadership roles at Prezi, where she drove customer segmentation and focused product improvements that expanded the user base to over 50 million users. She was SVP of Product and Marketing at Snagajob, where she oversaw the roadmap that drove 30%+ annual revenue and was responsible for achieving $20 million advertising revenue targets. Richardson began her career in business development and product management capacities at Eclipsys, a hospital software company.
Richardson holds a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Stanford University. She is an adviser to a number of startups and has been a featured speaker at Mind the Product Conference, Women in Product Conference and Lean Startup Conference.
