The McIntire Center for Financial Innovation Holds First Symposium Nov. 20, 2000—McIntire Center for Financial Innovation, dedicated to research and teaching that emphasize creativity in the investments arena, hosted its inaugural symposium Nov. 17, 2000. The symposium, “Hedge Fund Strategies and Performance,” explored hedge fund firm strategies and challenges and the impact of hedge funds on world financial markets. It featured leading financial experts, including:
“Hedge funds play an important role in today’s dynamic world economy, but their performance is monitored by a small group of private observers and consultants,” says Dean Carl Zeithaml. “This symposium positions McIntire at the forefront of disseminating knowledge in this area by establishing a value-added research agenda for the study of these fascinating firms and for increasing our understanding of hedge funds.” |
