Preparing for Your Job Search
Commerce Career Services assists McIntire students in
preparing for their job searches through:
-
Individual advising Counseling is provided for a variety of career issues, including
exploring values, interests, and skills;
resume writing;
conducting a job search;
interviewing for employment; and
evaluating and negotiating job offers.

Resume assistance Drop off a draft of your
resume,
cover letters, and thank-you letters
at Commerce Career Services (Monroe Hall 102), and look for a critique
in your Monroe Hall mailbox within a few days. Review your resume in
more detail by scheduling an individual appointment, or have your resume
critiqued during resume walk-in hours, Mondays and Thursdays, 2 p.m.
to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to noon.

Mock interviews (Employer-in-Residence Program)
This program brings employers on Grounds throughout each semester to offer you experience with the interviewing process through mock interviews.
Just a few past employer participants include

Procter & Gamble, and
Capital One.
