Employer-in-Residence Program

Commerce Career Services runs the Employer-in-Residence program each semester. This program is geared towards preparing Commerce students for the recruiting process. This year's program will include an opportunity for employers to participate in one or all of the following:

• Mock interviews

• Resume reviews

• Sponsoring a "coffee" networking event

Mock interviews enable employers  to meet individually with students and help them to refine their interviewing skills. This is also a chance to get to know students on an individual basis. Mock interviews can be scheduled throughout the day, or just part of the day. Students must sign up for employer slots in advance.  

Resume reviews are conducted during the day outside of Commerce Career Services, Rouss Hall, Suite 407. Students do not sign up beforehand, and are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. The program allows students to have their resume critiqued by a professional; employers are again able to speak with students on an individual basis and may be able to meet possible job/internship candidates.

Lastly, the "coffee" networking events are a new program that CCS recently implemented. Employers can sponsor coffee (and food if they wish) to be brought to Rouss & Robertson Halls anytime from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Representatives from an organization can speak with students for a few minutes in between classes. They can also critique resumes or simply get to know students on an informal basis.
