Admission Requirements
The McIntire School of Commerce seeks to admit a class
of well-rounded individuals who bring exceptional intellectual
capabilities along with a passion for the study of management of IT.
Admitted students are academically competitive; have successfully held
positions of professional responsibility related to the management of
information technology; and demonstrate qualities of character such as
motivation, maturity, tenacity, integrity, ability to work with others,
self-reliance, and leadership. Factors such as diversity of perspective
and functional expertise outside of IT may also be considered.
Minimum Requirements

An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited
college or university. The MS MIT program accepts students from a
range of undergraduate majors.

A minimum of two years of professional work
experience that includes significant managerial or technical
involvement with IT.

Non-native English speakers must also demonstrate
strong oral and written English language skills. McIntire recommends
a score of 620 (270 on the computer-based version) or above to be
competitive for admission.

veteran's status.
Please keep in mind that an admission to the MS MIT
program is competitive. Decisions are made based on completed
application packages, including the application form, honor statement,
official transcripts of all academic work, resume, essays, two letters
of recommendation, official copies of GMAT score or an approved GMAT
waiver, and official TOEFL score, if applicable. We invite you to take

program and our admissions process.
*McIntire welcomes applications from men and women
from countries other than the United States. Obtaining student visas can
be a lengthy process. International candidates should apply as early as
possible and no later than Jan. 15.
