Stephen C. Adams

Stephen C. Adams is a Group Vice President and stockholder in the Pomoco Group Inc., in Hampton, Va., which operates automobile dealerships and real estate developments. Prior to joining Pomoco in 1986, he spent 12 years in the accounting profession as a tax partner in a local CPA firm, with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co (now KPMG LLP) in Norfolk, and with the Financial Accounting Standards Board in Stamford, Conn.

Mr. Adams is a 1973 and 1974 graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, where he earned a BS and MS in Accounting.

In addition to serving on the McIntire School of Commerce Advisory Board, Mr. Adams serves on the advisory board of the Joseph W. Luter III School of Business Advisory Board at Christopher Newport University, the Board of the Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club, and the Board of International Cooperating Ministries. He is a past member of the board of the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula and Girls Incorporated.

Mr. Adams is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Tidewater Chapter of the VSCPA.

Mr. Adams is the father of two: Stephen Jr., who graduated from the University of Virginia, and Timmy, who attends Hampden Sydney College. He lives in Hampton and is married to Nancy Bagley Adams, a consulting registered dietitian.
